WeeK 5: Time Goes By

My new hair colour, and my crazy sister
Looking back on this week makes me realized just how slowly time can go.
This Monday I put in my two weeks notice at work. This Saturday will be my last day of work. I have mixed feelings about this; part of my loves the idea, but part of me is really sad to see it end. I worked so hard to get a job and now I am quitting. I will definitely miss the friends that I have made.
Monday night my friends and I went on an expedition to the river. This trek started at 10pm. Why? I don’t know. It was great to sit around a fire and chat for a while even though I knew I should be in bed. My 7:45am class the next morning was not that enjoyable.
Then, something amazing happened. I went insane! Okay, no surprise there, but I did something crazy last night! I dyed my hair tips red, the colour red. I like it a lot. Finding clothes to match might be harder, but I will learn.

WeeK 6: OLIVER!

My Milk Maid outfit, so much stage makeup
Our green room/waiting to go on room. We had a live stream
of the stage to let us know when to go on.
This week, not a lot of homework was accomplished. But this week was the play, Oliver! It went great! After rehearsal on Monday I was a little bit worried, but by Wednesday we were ready to go. Thursday was opening night. There was a lot of improvisation the first night, but the audience loved it and we had a ton of fun. I never knew how much work went into a production like this.
This week I have been living with some friends because my family has the flu and I did not want to be doing the play while throwing up. Thankfully I did not get it sick and they are starting to feel a little bit better.
It was so fun being a part of something so awesome. I have always wanted to try acting, but have never had the opportunity to do so. I have had so much positive feedback about my part. This whole thing just makes me want to pack my bags and go to Broadway (maybe someday)!

The countdown begins! WeeK 7

This last week was amazing! After being in the Spokane for so long, getting out of the city was so refreshing.
Sunday we got to go to our home church. I was able to give a presentation about my upcoming work in Arkansas this summer.
I had so many people come up and ask me for more information about it. I am so encouraged by the response I received. Visiting friends and family back home was one of the greatest blessings. We arrived back in Oregon on Friday, March 27th
One highlight of the trip was visiting my old Good News Club. There were 36 kids packed into that tiny trailer. Many of the kids were new, but the kids that knew us were so excited. One little girl grabbed onto me in the middle of club and said that she never wanted to let me go. I felt the same way. I have really missed those kids. Not being able to help with a Good News Club this year has been sad, but summer’s coming.
Our old home

Another highlight was just the quietness. I went out into the woods, made a fire, and just enjoyed nature. I painted my face with charcoal and took a nap on a log in the sun. I really miss that life.

This coming week I have the opportunity to be involved in a musical: Oliver! I am so excited to do this. We have been working on it very hard. If you are nearby you should come by.
Speaking of summer, things are gearing up! I am starting to look at plane tickets and panic about packing up again. There are only seven weeks left before I take off. I am again evaluating what to do after this summer. There is an opportunity for me to stay in Little Rock, but I could also go somewhere else. Oregon is amazing and I really want to go back, but I want to do God's will. I finished my newsletter and made up some prayer cards. I am also working on raising support. This summer is going to be amazing! Only seven weeks left to go.
